Gilbert, in partnership with Maricopa County Community College District, will again support the Professional Skills program offering self-paced training this spring for Gilbert residents and employees of Gilbert-based businesses.

The self-paced online training is free for Gilbert residents and Gilbert-based employees and offers an opportunity for those enrolled to take their soft skills training to the next level.

Participants complete 10 professional skills modules throughout the monthlong course, which contain activities and assessments designed to enhance their skills. All modules are completed online with access to an instructor.

This program can help Gilbert business owners invest in their employee and new hire training programs, and also for job seekers looking to improve employability.

The Professional Skills program starts in February and continues new enrollment each month through the spring 2024 semester. Those people wanting more information can find it online.

Gilbert’s workforce accelerator partner, Elevate, is recruiting Gilbert residents for their second tech sales training course. Gilbert's Office of Economic Development is partnering with the Gilbert-based company to offer residents an accelerated six-week program designed to help jump-start a career in the technology sales industry.

Participants will receive virtual and in-person instruction. Upon completion, graduates will have an opportunity to secure interviews with Elevate’s employer partners.

The first cohort was held last September and graduated six Gilbert residents, referred to as "climbers," and resulted in three full employment offers within a month of graduation.

The next training course starts Feb. 21. Space is limited. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. Those people interested can learn more online.

Gilbert’s business assistance programs are managed and promoted by the Gilbert Office of Economic Development.
