Gilbert Fire & Rescue hiring paramedics, EMTs

Online applications  for Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department positions are open now through September 8, 2024, for paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

Gilbert Fire & Rescue is looking for candidates who identify with the department’s ideals and mission to serve Gilbert with integrity, trust and respect.

The minimum qualifications for these positions include:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire;
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED;
  • Must possess, or able to obtain, a valid Arizona driver’s license by date of hire;
  • Must possess a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Professional Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Safety and Health Institute (EMT only);
  • Must possess a current state of Arizona EMT basic certification or national registry certification in good standing at time of application (EMT only);
  • Must possess a current Arizona Emergency Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic at time of application (paramedic only);
  • Must possess a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support from American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute  and CPR certifications at time of application (paramedic only).

The application process can be completed in two steps. First, applicants must submit their online application with the town of Gilbert by the deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8. The second step involves testing and a video interview, which also must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Sept. 8.
