Actors Youth Theatre presents “Hadestown: Teen Edition,” based on the Tony Award-winning show for Best Musical, on Aug. 7-17 at the Tuscany Theatre in Gilbert.

“Hadestown: Teen Edition” tells the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, two lovers separated by fate and the barriers between the living and the dead.

With music that blends modern folk and jazz, the musical reimagines ancient myths for a contemporary audience, highlighting themes of resilience and the power of love.

“‘Hadestown’ speaks to the resilience and determination of today’s generation,” director Kieara Kurtz-Williams said. “It tackles pressing issues like environmental sustainability, economic inequality and social justice through the journeys of its characters.

“’Hadestown’ reminds us that amidst adversity, hope and creativity can light the way forward.”

Tickets are available now and can be purchased online at aytaz.org or at the theatre box office. Tickets are $25.
