Fountain Hills Photo Club to meet July 10

2024 summer program continues

Posted

The Fountain Hills Photography Club will meet Wednesday, July 10, at 6 p.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

The club continues its 2024 summer program with another episode of the Before and After Program along with the Show and Tell Slideshow.

The Show and Tell Slideshow is a modified version of the former Member Slideshow where members are invited to provide information on the photos they are sharing; the why, where, how and what they hoped to convey with the photo.

Meeting attendees ask questions and offer suggestions on post-processing adjustments.

In the past, this has generated good discussions of the myriad ways in which post-processing can help achieve the best possible rendering of the photograph, a press release read.

For the Before and After Program, members are asked to submit an original unedited photo alongside its final version with the post-processing results.

Members are asked to inform the audience why the particular subject was chosen, the camera or smartphone used and what application(s) were used for the post-processing.

Discussions generally touch on composition, cropping, color correction, contrast, exposure and techniques for removing unwanted objects from a photo.

The Fountain Hills Photography Club is a growing group of enthusiastic local photographers of all levels, intent on sharpening photography skills, exploring the capabilities of smartphone cameras and AI, experiencing the wonders of post-processing and exchanging the stories behind the photos.

The club welcomed two new members last month and welcome more in the months to come.

Attendees are invited to bring their photos and desire to learn more about taking pictures.
