Wednesday is last Historic Florence walking tour of season

Posted

The Pinal County Historical Museum’s last Historic  Florence Walking Tour of the season takes place Wednesday.

The tour starts at 10 a.m. at the 1891 second Pinal County Courthouse, 135 N. Pinal St.

On this guided tour, attendees will see how Phoenix’s Victorian era melded with the Sonoran influence from Tucson and Mexico to create some of the historic homes and buildings still standing in Florence today .

“Learn how both the architecture and the lifestyles of Florence’s people reflect this blending,” the PCHM website stated. “Walk with (tour guide) Chris Reid as you see how much of those influences remain in our historic district in the buildings and the history of the people.”

The tour is limited to 12 people, and advanced registration is required. A warning: Tickets are selling out fast and many of this season’s walking tours were sold out days in advance.

Tickets are $20 per adult/$15 per museum member. Visit https://secure.qgiv.com/for/pchm/event/hfwtmnc/ to register or call PCHM at 520-868-4382 to reserve a spot on the tour.
