Get ready to make a difference

The town of Florence will be holding its “Florence Makes a Difference Day” kickoff meeting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Viney Jones Library & Community Center, 778 N. Main St.

The annual Florence Makes a Difference Day, set for Saturday, Oct. 19, offers a variety of projects for residents and volunteers to participate in. All the projects are aimed at making a positive impact on the community.

“From local clean-up to beautification and everything in between, there's something for everyone. Projects may include cleaning, painting, collecting litter, digging, planting, etc.,” according to a town Facebook post.

At the Tuesday meeting, volunteers and town staff will brainstorm possible projects for the annual event.

To participate in a project or attend the kickoff meeting, individuals must register at https://bit.ly/3X5B1PH. Organizations and civic groups that also want to participate must register at https://bit.ly/4dnoahj.

The first 150 participants to register are guaranteed a shirt sponsored by Florence Copper. For more information, call 520-868-7040.
