Black History Poetry Contest with $100 prize hosted by Central Arizona College

Central Arizona College students and members of the community are invited to participate in the 2024 Black History Poetry Contest for a chance to win a $100 first-place prize.

Submit original work of poetry with the theme “The Unity of Community” to Eliana Leamons at eliana.leamons@centralaz.edu by Monday, Feb. 19, according to a post on Facebook @ CentralAZCollege.

Prizes awarded for the top three places: first place, $100; second place, $75; and third place, $50.

Hear the winning submissions at the cultural expression competition event at noon Tuesday, Feb. 27, at CAC’s Signal Peak Campus (Room No. I400) in Coolidge. A reception is to follow, provided by CAC Student Engagement.
