‘Nutcracker’ brings holiday ballet to Estrella

Southwest Ballet Theatre presents for 5th straight year

Join Southwest Ballet Theatre for a West Valley holiday tradition with Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” which opens 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at Estrella Mountain Community College’s Performing Arts Center, 3000 N. Dysart Road, Avondale.

Shows continue 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13; 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Tickets $18-24.

“We are excited to bring you our 5th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s full length ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ under the artistic direction of Melissa Zervas Hahne, with choreography and staging by Daniel Baudendistel,” Southwest Ballet Theatre states in a news release.

Will call opens an hour before performance time, and the house opens 30 minutes before the performance. Online ticket sales end 12 hours prior to show time, however tickets will be available to purchase at the door.

SWBT’s “Nutcracker” is supported in part by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, which receives support from the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts.
