Janice was born on December 28, 1943 and passed away peacefully at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, AZ on July 29, 2019. She was 75 years old. Jan was born in Albion, Ml & raised in Concord, Ml.
She attended and graduated from Concord High School where Gary and she met, fell in love, and were married on July 21, 1962.
Jan had a flair for cooking, kept an immaculate house, and was skilled in quilting and sewing. When she and Gary were younger, they enjoyed weekly outings to the local bowling alley where they and their friends were in a competitive league.
Jan is survived by her husband, Gary W. Brooks; her brother, Darrell Brigham; younger sister, Diane Madery; and brother, Larry Brigham. She was the loving & devoted mother of Tod Brooks of Aurora, CO, Tony Brooks of Concord Ml, Troy Brooks of Concord Ml, Toby Brooks of Mesa, AZ, and Thad Brooks of Mesa, AZ. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Jan was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her boys dearly. She especially loved her role as Meme to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a spunky personality and always made people around feel at ease.
Family & friends attended a celebration of life honoring Janice M. Brooks on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain View Funeral Horne and Cemetery located at 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ. It was hosted by the family and included snacks, shared memories, and slide presentation. Internment was private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
