Chandler Fire Department gets 5-year accreditation

Posted

The Chandler Fire Department has been reaccredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International following a year-long process, according to a news release.

Chandler was first accredited in 1999 and has been reaccredited every five years.

To earn accreditation, Chandler Fire underwent a strategic assessment of its resource deployment model, developing continuous quality improvement initiatives and presenting findings to a commission of leaders.

The Commission on Fire Accreditation International helps fire and emergency service agencies examine past, current and future service levels, evaluates internal performance and compares them to industry best practices.

This peer review and self-assessment leads to improved operations and service delivery for the community.

Chandler Fire says it's among the 1% of departments in the U.S. that are both accredited and hold the Insurance Services Office Class 1 distinction for innovative fire protection methods.
