Chandler academic decathlon team takes state again

Hamilton High School’s Academic Decathlon team recently wrapped up another state championship.

The team, which is the reigning Region 4 national champions, has won Arizona’s Region 4 nine consecutive years.

The team claimed 27 individual medals at the state competition.

Accompanied by assistant coach Esther Bateson, the team was  honored at a recent Chandler Unified School District Governing Board meeting,  taking a photo with CUSD Superintendent Frank Narducci.

Team members include Chloe Zhan, Andy Ma, Claire Zhan, Audrey Zhang, Srijay Kalavena, Arun Chebrolu, Bruce Shen, Thi Nguyen and Taryn Preis.
