Pinal County resumes issuance of open burn permits

Pinal County Air Quality in October resumed issuing open burning permits throughout the county.
Burn permits allow for the disposal of plant material by open burning during limited daytime hours. Allowable burn hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 1-March 31 and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. April 1-30, according to a release.
“This year we highly recommend the online purchase of burn permits due to our satellite offices in Apache Junction and Casa Grande being temporarily closed. A limited number of appointments will be available for customers at the Florence office,” the release states.

To apply for a burn permit online, go to citizenaccess.pinalcountyaz.gov/CitizenAccess/Default.aspx.
Customers can apply 24 hours seven days a week; however, permits are only issued 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and many take up to 48 hours to process, the release states.
