‘PCH Prize Patrol’ surprises Gold Canyon resident with $18K

Robert Splan of Gold Canyon recently received a check for $18,158.99 from Publishers Clearing House.
The check, roses and balloons were presented by Danielle Lam of the PCH Prize Patrol.
“I just surprised Robert Splan from Gold Canyon with the big check,” she said in an email. “When I originally knocked on the door, Robert was out at a doctor’s appointment but luckily his wife was home. Within 20 minutes he arrived and was shocked to see the famous ‘Prize Patrol’ at their door. His wife had teased him for years about entering, thinking that it wasn’t real, so he loved proving her wrong. They plan to use the money on home renovations and celebrating with friends.”
The Prize Patrol from Publishers Clearing House, which has awarded more than half a billion dollars in prizes nationwide, traveled to Gold Canyon on Friday, March 4, to award a home gym package valued at $18,158.99 to one lucky winner given the option to keep the prize package or take the cash option, according to a release.
