Burks: Don’t let our print media die

Posted

Did you know what happened in Gold Canyon, Apache Junction, Queen Creek and the surrounding areas, with detail and accuracy? You would if you are reading your local publications, not just excerpts and opinions from Internet sources.

When reading the Superstition Living and the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent newspaper you will have more facts and details about local issues and community accomplishments, entertainment and events. Not to mention all those amazing photos of our picturesque surroundings and wildlife.

Don’t let print media die. Just think --- you can pick up your publication, hold it in your hands, take it with you to your favorite chair or outdoor space and enjoy the information, and the pictures even more.

Remember your local advertisers are the ones who keep our Superstition Living and Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent newspaper coming to you every month.

Please support the advertisers, not only to keep the publications coming, but also to support your local businesses and the products and services they provide.

They are both monthly publications, so you will want to keep them nearby to be sure you don’t miss the latest home-improvement specials, products and service discounts, dining specials and events and entertainment.

“We are a community,” and if we want to remain robust communities with amenities, we must support the advertisers or we can say good-bye to our print media.

It was a sad day when the Apache Junction News closed its doors this month.

As the Gold Canyon Business Association's publicity chairman, my concern is for all our small businesses here in Gold Canyon and our surrounding communities.

Please let us support our remaining publications, before they disappear.
