The city of Surprise is partnering with Vitalant Blood Donation to host several blood drives this spring and summer.
Community members wanting to participate are encouraged to make an appointment through the Vitalant website using Blood Drive Code P1T62, or by contacting Jamie Michler at 623-222-5127. Although walk-ins are welcomed, those with an appointment will be given priority.
The drives are at the following times: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 at the Asante Library, 16755 W. Verdena Solana Drive; 9 a.m. to 1 pm. May 24 at the Program Room at the Surprise Regional Library, 16089 N. Bullard Ave.; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 28 at the Community Room in Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28 and July 26 at the Regional Library.
As a special thank you, Vitalant will be giving an exclusive ’70 Decade Themed T-shirt to those participating in a blood drive from May 24 to 31. Embrace groovy giving and spread the message that donating to help patients is as cool and timeless as ever.
While the temperatures rise in the Valley, supply can get low and more donors are always needed. Every day, an average of 5,500 blood donations are needed to meet patient needs.
