The Phoenix City Council has referred the general plan to the Nov. 5 election ballot.

The council last weeek approved the General Plan 2025 Update unanimously. It is “a comprehensive plan that will guide the city's development and growth for the next 10 years,” according to a release.

The plan follows recommendations for approval by all 15 Village Planning committees and the planning commission.

“The General Plan 2025 Update is a reflection of our city's vision for a vibrant and sustainable future. It is the result of extensive research and collaboration with our community members and partners,” Planning and Development Department Director Joshua Bednarek said.
