Israeli war hero to speak on conflict in Middle East

Chabad of Scottsdale is offering a special lecture event, featuring Israeli war hero and expert on the current situation in Israel, Avigdor Kahalani

The lecture, titled "From the Yom Kippur War to Today: Understanding the events of October 7th and their far-reaching impact,", will take place on May 20th at 7 p.m. at Chabad of Scottsdale, 10215 N. Scottsdale Road, according to a press release.

Kahalani is widely acclaimed for his leadership during the Yom Kippur War of 1973, where he played a role in defending Israel against enemy forces in the Golan Heights.

His bravery and strategic acumen earned him national recognition, admiration and a number of honorary medals. Since then, Kahalani has dedicated himself to sharing his experiences and insights, becoming a respected commentator on Israeli military affairs and the broader geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.

In this lecture, Kahalani will draw upon his experiences as a war hero and his expertise as a commentator on contemporary Israeli affairs, to provide perspectives on the challenges facing Israel today. From security concerns to regional dynamics, Kahalani's analysis offers depth and clarity, providing audiences with a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the complex realities shaping Israel's present and future.

"We are honored to host Avigdor Kahalani at Chabad of Scottsdale," Rabbi Yossi Levertov, Rabbi at Chabad of Scottsdale, said in the release. "As a distinguished war hero and expert commentator, Kahalani's insights are invaluable for our community, particularly during these challenging times.
