The assault occurred in October 2022, near 1212 E. Guadalupe Road, Gilbert. The victim in this assault was initially not known, but Gilbert detectives through their investigation recently identified and interviewed the victim, leading to Oden's arrest, police said.

The incident had not been reported to police until Dec. 26, 2023.
