Women’s chorus preps for 1st rehearsal of new season

The Sun City Women’s Chorus will begin the new season with its first rehearsal 8:45-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Fairway Recreation Center’s music room, 10600 W. Peoria Ave.

New singers with an SCRC card are welcome.

Under the leadership of Jane Higgs, a well-known musician in the West Valley, the chorus performs two main concerts yearly: the first Sunday in December, and the second Sunday in April. Both concerts take place in the Sundial Auditorium, 14801 N. 103rd Ave.

The Women’s Chorus has been making joyful music in Sun City since 1963 and is a Chartered Club of the Recreation Centers of Sun City.

The 70-member chorus is made up of women with varied musical backgrounds who like to sing and perform a variety of music. Interested women may attend a rehearsal or two to determine if the club is a good fit.
