Spiders of the Sonoran Deser

Spiders of the Sonoran Desert is billed as a Halloween special from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Lake Pleasant Regional ParkDiscovery Center, 39345 N. Overlook Road, Peoria. Visitors will see spiders and learn some facts during the class.Contact: 928-501-1700.There are several other events planned over the next few days at the Lake Pleasant park.

SHORELINE EXPLORING HIKE: Examine the shoreline of Lake Pleasant with a ranger from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 13. Meet at the park’s 10-lane boat ramp east parking lot, trailhead, 41835 N. Castle Hot Springs Road. Contact: 928-501-1710.

DESERT 101: A talk inside the Discovery Center will focus on preparation, prevention, and plants/animal awareness in the desert. Itwill take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. Contact: 928-501-1700.

WATER HIKE: A ranger takes visitors along the Two Cow Cove area from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. It begins at the Wild Burro Trailhead. Follow “hike” signs in the park to the trailhead. Contact: 928-501-1710.
