Sister trio brings folk-rock music to Peoria

The Gothard Sisters, made up of Greta, Willow and Solana Gothard, bring their folk music sounds to the Gyder Theatre stage 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 inside the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 10580 N. 83rd Drive.

The Gothards are a musical group of three sisters who play contemporary Celtic music. Through 10 years performing, touring and writing together, their optimistic style hails from the Pacific Northwest.

Their latest all-original album release, “Midnight Sun,” reached No. 6 on the Billboard World Music charts as the chart’s highest ranking debut, and the Gothard Sisters have performed all over the country, including a concert at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium stage in Washington DC, performances with Disney Cruise line in Europe, and music festivals.Blending Celtic, folk, classical, world and northwest musical influences, the sisters perform songs with violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin, bodhran, djembe, octave violin, whistle and vocal harmonies.

The band has released seven albums and has performed more than 1,000 live shows over the course of their career.
