Jam band Spooky Kool brings ‘body and soul’ to Peoria

Phoenix-based jam band Spooky Kool will perform 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 10580 N. 83rd Drive.

“We have been working diligently to provide you with music that speaks to your spirit while entertaining your body and soul,” the band writes on its Facebook page.

Gabriel Bey — trumpeter, writer, producer — and the band present musical compositions and conversations they design to elevate the spirit and promote joy and happiness. The band also consists of Phil Janzen (drums), Sandra Bassett (keyboard and vocals), Jack Schaar (sax), Ross Covington (bass) and Pete Mello (guitar).

Spooky Kool was recently ranked as the No. 1 Jam Band in Phoenix. They list Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker and Weather Report among their musical influences.
