Indie singer heading to Peoria stage

Micah Bentley performs May 25 at Winery 101 in Peoria. [Special to the Independent]

Winery 101 will host Micah Bentley

Indie singer/songwriter Micah Bentley performs 5 p.m. Saturday, May 25 at Winery 101, 9299 W. Olive Ave., Suite 101.

Mr. Bentley released his first EP and single “My Heart Beats Fast” in 2004. He went on to release his next EP “The Impossible” right before joining pop-rock band A Change of Pace until the band disbanded in 2011, where he then moved on to release his first solo full length album “Prone to Wander.”

He spent the next two years writing and recording with producer David Bendeth in New Jersey, helping develop his sound as they merged his folk and rock appetites for his EP “Let There Be Light,” which included the single “Good Man.”

In early 2017 Mr. Bentley released his most recent EP “Tired Ways,” that takes his sound in a reflective direction using more ambient sounds while conserving his indie rock style.

He also performs with the alt/indie rock worship band Wild Earth.

He’s now working on a new album to be out sometime this year.
