Getting plants to thrive in the low desert takes more than luck; it takes proper plant selection, installation, watering and maintenance. Landscape designer Jo Miller will cover the basics on how to create a healthy and harmonious landscape during a free seminar 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 9 at Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St.
