Ghostlight Theatre in Sun City West is gearing up for its ninth season.

The playhouse at 13541 W. Camino del Sol has announced its 2018-19 lineup of productions:

“Some Sweet Day,” Sept. 13-23

Ever wish you could go back in time and fix your mistakes? “Some Sweet Day” is a full-throttle romantic comedy where one man is given that chance. Ken still regrets losing the girl of his dreams 24 years ago. But when the time machine he has been obsessively building finally works, he gets a second chance to try to make things right.

“God of Carnage,” Oct. 25-Nov. 4

A playground altercation between 11-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses tensions emerge and the gloves come off. This comedy was the winner of the 2009 Tony Award.

“Much Ado About Nothing,” Jan. 17-27

Shakespeare’s most famous comedy takes a jazzy turn! Set in a 1920s speakeasy, two pairs of lovers deal with mistaken identity, jealousy, and their own pride to try and find their happy ending! Full of twists, turns, and laughs, this love story is one for the ages!

“I Hate Shakespeare!,” Feb. 28-March 10

Think Shakespeare is snooze? Well, you’ve never seen it like this. With zombies, talking cows and an infamous daytime talk show host, “I Hate Shakespeare!” is a hilarious and fast-paced skewering of the greatest classics of all time — with a modern twist. Plus, someone gets a pie in the face.

“The Glass Menagerie,” April 4-14

Young Tom begrudgingly supports his genteel mother and lame shy sister while yearning for freedom. This award-winning play is largely autobiographical and launched the career of one of America’s greatest playwrights, Tennessee Williams.

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown: The Musical,” May 23-June 2

Based on the beloved Comic Strip, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown: The Musical” follows Charlie Brown and his friends from Valentine’s Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
