Desert Aires welcome guest quartet to Sun City show

The Desert Aires Barbershop Chorus will present guest quartet, Intonation, at their 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 show at the Sun Dial Recreation Center, 14801 N. 103rd Ave.

The Intonation Quartet’s repertoire includes old favorites and upbeat numbers from current arrangements of recent popular songs.

The Desert Aires will be joined with the Phoenicians Barbershop Chorus for the show singing both as a combined chorus and individual choruses, along with chapter quartets in an unique collaboration.Tickets are $20 for reserved seating and $15 for general admission, and are available by calling 623-544-0654 or at the Sun Dial Recreation Center box office 9 a.m.-noon through Saturday, Feb. 24, and at 1 p.m. the day of the performance.

The Desert Aires originally came together in 1976 by men who loved to sing a’cappella four-part harmony locally as they had done in their home states prior to their retirement to Arizona. They rehearse at Bellevue Heights Church, 9440 W. Hutton Drive, Tuesday afternoons.
