A musical adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film “An American in Paris” features some of George and Ira Gershwin’s most beloved music, and opens its run 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane.
The show runs through March 1.
The original 1951 musical film was inspired by the 1928 orchestral composition “An American in Paris” by George Gershwin.
“Three friends struggle to find work in Paris. Things become more complicated when two of them fall in love with the same woman,” IMDb sums up of the musical romance’s storyline.
After its Peoria run, the show plays March 8-24 at Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe St., in Phoenix.
“This is an enduring story of hope, romance, and love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II,” Arizona Broadway Theatre states.
The show is choreographed by ABT’s Kurtis Overby.
