Pedestrian killed by distracted driver

Glenn Gullickson was out walking his dog in Sun City Grand on a clear and roughly 70-degree weather day. He was struck and killed by a driver that Surprise police found not to be impaired, but reportedly distracted. The driver was cited, not charged.

SAD STORY

What a terribly sad story. It’s not only cell phones that can distract. — Tracy Gardner

SURPRISED

Seriously, no other serious charges? — Art “Karts” Huseonica

The heat is on

It may be very warm outside, but the lack of humidity is a big plus.

AT LEAST IT’S DRY

Been a wonderful pool week! I will take 115 in Sun City over 85 in Rochester, New York every time. It’s a dry heat! — Gary Sisson

Bomb threat

Peoria police were called to the Walmart Lake Pleasant location on Sunday for a bomb threat. The store was evacuated but it was a false alarm.

ALL CLEAR

The area and store have been checked with the assistance of Glendale PD and has been determined to be safe, nothing suspicious was located. — @PeoriaAzPS
