Distracted driving

On a 7-0 vote, Surprise City Council recently approved a measure making all but hands-free mobile device use illegal while operating a vehicle in the city.

Lightning strikes

The El Mirage Police Department responded to the area of 121st Avenue and Moreno on Wednesday where two 13-year-old boys were struck by lightning. Both were transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and were in stable condition.

Representatives from the Arizona Department of Water Resources recently toured Willowbrook Golf Course in Sun City.
