Mary Ann Talavage is the Artist of the Month for April with the Stained Glass Crafters.
A visit to Chartres Cathedral in France inspired her love of glass after she saw their famous “Rose Window.” She recently added a room to their home here to satisfy her hobby. Her summer home in Indiana keeps her occupied with kiln-fired work.
Being a master gardener keeps her busy both in Sun City West and “up north.” She even has glass flowers as part of her outdoor landscaping locally. This year a quail family found one of her flower pots was a perfect place to lay their eggs.
Ms. Talavage and her husband Joe spent many years exploring the warm climates in the U.S. and Mexico in their RV. After four days of viewing Sun City West they decided to make it their new home in 1998.
The Stained Glass Crafters’ second window, at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center, 13800 W. Deer Valley Road, features work done by new students.
