Rotary honors

Chuck Fitzgerald, left, a resident of Peoria and member of the Peoria Rotary Club, was honored recently for his support for peace initiatives locally and throughout the world. Mr. Fitzgerald was the driving force behind the installation of a Peace Pole at Centennial High School two years ago.

During a Rotary-sponsored Pursuing Peace Conference May 31 in Litchfield Park, Mr. Fitzgerald received Rotary District 5495’s first-ever Peace award.

Members of the Peoria Rotary Club were on hand to congratulate Mr. Fitzgerald. Above, from left, Nadina Fish, Tim Stack, Chuck and Susan Fitzgerald, and Dawn Prince.
