RISE council elects officers for upcoming year

Enrollment starts May 24

 

The RISE (Rio Institute for Senior Education) governing council elected officers for the coming year.

Larry Henley was elected as president, Michael Moore as first vice president, and Joe Seoane is the second vice president. Susie Bowman is secretary and Janet Teeguarden is treasurer.

RISE officers as well as the presenters for the programs are all volunteers.

RISE, located at Rio Salado College, 12535 W. Smokey Drive, in Surprise, is a series of 400 lectures or classes of current interest conducted on site at the Surprise campus throughout the year. Students also have access to 500 online classes by Universal.

For a yearly membership fee of $65 the member has the opportunity of taking as many of the lectures as they want. Lectures include topics in health and wellness, history, finance, religion, sciences, travel, and the arts.

Enrollment will begin Friday, May 24 and lectures start Monday, June 3. A member can enroll anytime during the sessions.
