Honoring veterans: local company to give free A/C unit to deserving veteran

Forrest Anderson Plumbing and Air Conditioning Inc. (Forrest Anderson), a family-owned business in the Phoenix area since 1961, will honor men and women who served in our military by providing one local veteran with a new air conditioning unit. Forrest Anderson just launched its 2018 Military Hero AC Giveaway to share veterans’ stories and award one winner a free Carrier Heating and Cooling System with complete installation.

To nominate a deserving veteran for the Military Hero AC Giveaway, community members are encouraged to submit a 200-word essay and fill out a short application at forrestanderson.net.  Up to five finalists will be posted on Forrest Anderson’s Facebook page where the public can read their stories, share them and vote for a winner. The contest is open to active duty military, retired service members and veterans who were discharged under general or honorable conditions.

“This is an important opportunity for everyone at Forrest Anderson to thank veterans for their service and acknowledge their contributions to keeping our families safe,” Audrey Monell, president of Forrest Anderson. “The men and women who enter the military sacrifice so much for our national security and we think it is important to share their stories and honor their dedication to our country.”

This is the third consecutive year Forrest Anderson has sponsored the Military Hero AC Giveaway, as they see firsthand the potential dangers of living without air conditioning in Arizona. Ms. Monell believes the men and women who risk their lives fighting for our freedom deserve to be recognized and have a relaxing, comfortable home.

The deadline to nominate a veteran is Monday, Oct. 15. Finalists will be announced in late October, and the public will be encouraged to vote through the Forrest Anderson Facebook Page. The winner will be announced Nov. 9.

The donation is made possible in part by Sigler Wholesale Distributors, which is providing a Carrier 14 Seer Heating and Cooling system, Empire Metal Products, which has graciously donated the sheet metal, and Smiley Crane Service.
