An Improv Camp For Kids is coming to Stir Crazy Comedy Club this summer.

Improv is a children’s all-inclusive gateway into summer fun at Stir Crazy Comedy Club in the Westgate Entertainment District, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd., Suite 206, Glendale. The camp provides a safe and open environment for youngsters to sharpen teamwork skills, build self-confidence and explore unrevealed talents. Class sizes are limited so reserve a spot in advance.

The camp is open to ages 8 through 13, and camp times run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are six one-week sessions, through July 20. Cost is $325.

Improvers will spend half day on improv games and exercises and then half day on special chaperoned field trips within Westgate Entertainment District. A mini outing lineup includes Dave & Buster’s, Tavern+Bowl and As You Wish Pottery (all just a few steps from Stir Crazy Comedy Club). Lunch is included daily.

On “Showcase Friday,” family and friends are invited to the Improv Showcase where the kids show off their new improv skills. The Showcase is filmed, and those in attendance receive a link to download the showcase video.

The instructor, Brian Kohatsu, is an improvisor, stand-up comedian and media producer. He performs comedy all around the country in comedy clubs, casinos and churches. An Arizona native, Mr. Kohatsu has taught improv around the Valley for over a decade and is excited to be teaching at Stir Crazy Comedy Club in his hometown of Glendale.
