Goodyear stop is the only in the West Valley

Ballet Arizona presents Ballet Under the Stars 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at North Lake Amphitheater in Estrella, 10360 S. Estrella Parkway, Goodyear.

The event is free and open to the public. The Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation presents Ballet Under the Stars to allow Arizona communities to enjoy dance in an outdoor setting complete with a stage, lighting, costumes, and great weather.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy a varied program, ranging from classical to contemporary.

The Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation present the free events, which feature expenses that include dancers, costumes and music royalties, in addition to the stage and lighting required. Each performance costs nearly $50,000, according to Ballet Arizona.

There are only four Ballet Under the Stars programs in September, and  the Goodyear event is the only in the West Valley. Other stops include Fountain Hills, Tempe and Phoenix.
