Coyotes center Nick Schmaltz will miss the rest of the season with a lower-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.
The Coyotes acquired Schmaltz in a trade Nov. 25 that sent Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini to Chicago. He’s recorded 14 points over 17 games with Arizona.
Schmaltz suffered the injury Dec. 30 in a home game against Vegas.
Schmaltz joins goalie Antti Raanta, defenseman Jason Demers and forwards Christian Dvorak and Michael Grabner as Coyotes to have missed significant time due to injury this season.
