Barbara Senefeld, Recreation Centers of Sun City West governing board treasurer, resigned her position.

Jim Sloan, RCSCW governing board president, said Ms. Senefeld resigned, citing personal reason. Ms. Senefeld was also chairman of the RCSCW Budget and Finance Committee which is beginning the budget planning process for the next fiscal year.

Mr. Sloan said he is proposing to the board to fill the vacancy by appointing current vice president Bryan Walus as treasurer, and Tim Hurley as vice president.

Normally when a governing board member resigns someone is appointed to fill the vacancy.

Mr. Sloan said the election is just a few weeks away and that will be used to fill the empty spot.

“The top voting getting candidate, assuming it is not Sue Fitzsimons as she is filling a vacated term and will finish that term June 30, will immediately join the board and will serve through June 30th. On July 1, the fourth-place vote getter will be seated and will serve the remaining two years of Barbara’s term,” Mr. Sloan said.

Ms. Senefeld and her husband have lived in Sun City West since 2015. She became a member of the RCSCW Budget and Finance Committee in 2017, and assumed her current position in 2018.
