The Property Owners and Residents Association of Sun City West governing board has scheduled a public meeting for members to vote on possibly changing some articles of incorporation.

The PORA governing board recently changed some of the organization’s bylaws:

-An elected term would be changed from starting on January 1 and running through the calendar, but to have officers serve from July 1-June 30, the fiscal year.

Larry Woods

Larry Woods, PORA governing board president said, “This way the officers will begin in September and run through the year along with the budget and other plans.

“Before we found ourselves changing board members in January that is right in the middle of everything and having to bring new people up to speed,” Mr. Woods added.

-Another change reduces the number of board members  will from nine to seven, he added.

Bylaws can be changed by the governing board and those have already been made.

The board also wants to make changes to the articles of incorporation, and those have to be voted on by the membership.

The election will be at the monthly governing board meeting,  1 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the PORA office, 13815 Camino del Sol.

Mr. Woods said all PORA members are encouraged to attend and vote.
