A photo of one vehicle on top of another inside a Kohl’s parking lot in Surprise garnered attention about how the situation happened.

A recently released police report provides some answers.

Last month on March 5, an SUV and a sedan were involved in a parking lot collision near Litchfield and Bell roads.

While no one was seriously injured or transported, the drivers involved weren’t entirely sure how the vehicles ended up where they did.

The driver of the SUV told police she was driving east in the parking lot at a “reasonable” speed when the sedan heading south drove in front of her. The SUV driver attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the collision.

According to the report, the vehicles traveled east, with the sedan rolling over and the SUV going on top of it.

The driver of the sedan would tell police she did not know what happened after colliding other than her vehicle rolled over and that she was trapped.

Neither driver showed signs of impairment, the report said. Tow trucks responded to remove the vehicles from the scene.
