Driver identified in deadly rollover collision along Loop 101

A man is dead after his vehicle collided with a median wall and rolled over on the side of the freeway.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reports Jason S. Mark, 48, of Glendale died from injuries in a single-vehicle rollover around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday near Loop 101 and Camelback Road.

DPS said a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on Loop 101 when it collided with a concrete median wall. The pickup then veered to the right across all lanes of traffic, ran off the road and rolled over.

DPS said the driver, Mr. Mark, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck.

Medical personnel transported him to Abrazo West Campus where he died from his injuries.

The rollover closed a portion of the freeway for several hours while officials cleared the scene.
