Property Owners and Residents Association officials said eight residents have filed to run for the three upcoming vacancies on the agency’s board of directors.
The deadline for residents to file was Oct. 31.
Residents filing to run for the positions, in alphabetical order, are Margaret Boll, Dee Hjermstad, David L Hunter, Vronna (Ronni) Hoover, Ralph D. Johnson, Barrett F. Rainey, Connie Scott and Ken Toftoy.
The PORA nominating committee will meet to confirm the candidates’ eligibility.
Shawn Mayo, PORA executive director, said voting will be held the 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. week of Monday, Dec 3 – Friday, Dec 7, at the PORA Membership Office, 13815 Camino del Sol.
The new officers will join six other board members and begin serving three-year terms on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
Petitions became available on Thursday, Nov. 1, for candidates wishing to serve on the Recreation Centers of Sun City West governing board.
Interested owner members should file a request with executive assistant Karen Roepke and receive an election packet.
Candidates must submit an official petition with at least 200 owner member signatures and a typed resume of not more than 500 words. These must be turned in to the executive assistant no later than 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.
The RCSCW election for three new members will be held Monday, March 11.
