Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale welcomes new COO

Omar Pineda has joined the hospital leadership at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus as chief operating officer.

Mr. Pineda is a senior healthcare executive with more than 20 years of progressive leadership and management experience. He most recently was National Senior Director of Patient Experience and Service for Tenet Healthcare in Dallas.

“Omar is an action-oriented operational leader with a focus on building positive staff and physician relationships, quality management and customer satisfaction. I look forward to working closely with him as a member of our leadership team,” stated Abrazo Arrowhead Chief Executive Officer Jeff Patterson in a news release.

During Mr. Pineda’s tenure at Tenet in Dallas, his responsibilities included oversight of the company’s national patient experience and service programs, accountability for corporate strategy and execution of HCAHPS (the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) goals, creation of national patient experience training architecture and curriculum development, and responsibility for Tenet clinical technology programs.

Mr. Pineda’s previous experience also includes positions with Tenet as Regional Chief Nurse Executive – Texas Region and Corporate Senior Director – Patient Care Services, as well as clinical and operations positions with hospitals in San Antonio and Arlington, Texas.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word, and a Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration and Community Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is an acute care 217-bed hospital that has served the Northwest Valley for more than 30 years. Known for its surgical, cardiovascular, orthopedic and women’s and infant’s services, Abrazo Arrowhead is launching Internal Medicine and General Surgery medical residency programs in July.
