Mayor Cathy Carlat is taking her state of the city on tour this year.

She will deliver her initial address Thursday, April 25, a business-sponsored, ticketed event to be held in the Peoria Sports Complex Colonnade Room, 16101 N. 83rd Ave.

She will follow-up with five free community events through June at the following locations: Rio Vista Recreation Center, Peoria Community Center, Ventana Lakes Yacht Club, Westbrook Village Vistas Ballroom and Copper Hills Church.

They are open to the public and will include light refreshments. Ms Carlat, city council members, and city leaders will be available to meet with residents and answer questions.

Briana Cortinas, a spokeswoman for the mayor, said at all events Ms. Carlat will present a state of the city video highlighting some of the people and places who make the Peoria community exceptional.

Peoria is home to truly amazing residents and the mayor is excited to share some of their stories, she said.

“Keeping Peoria residents informed and connected has always been one of the mayor’s top priorities,” Ms. Cortinas said. “As she heads into her second term, the mayor wanted to be sure residents have the opportunity to hear directly from her about some of the exciting things happening.”

The business-sponsored event at Peoria Sports Complex is a ticketed reception, with limited seating available. The event will benefit the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 62, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of Peoria veterans, military and their families through educational programs, community events, legislative action, and volunteerism.
