Surprise police search for man who robbed bank inside store

The Surprise Police Department seeks the public’s help to identify a man suspected of robbing a bank inside a grocery store.

The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. Bank located inside the Safeway store at 13828 W. Waddell Road.

UPDATE: Man arrested in connection with Surprise bank robbery

Police said the man entered the store, approached the bank teller, and presented a note demanding money.

The suspect is described as a man with a mustache and beard, sun glasses, and a black-hooded Oakland Raiders sweatshirt.

He did not display any weapons and no one was injured during the robbery.

After exiting the store, the suspect entered a silver or tan-colored Dodge Nitro passenger car and fled the area.
