The Sun City West Farmers Market began Oct. 3, with 25 vendors.
Some vendors said heavy rains the day before and in the forecast for that day caused them to cancel for the first day.
Carol Legg, one of the event coordinators, said she anticipates at least 30 vendors to be on hand this week.
The market is scheduled to run 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Wednesday in the Sun City West Foundation parking lot, 14465 R. H. Johnson Blvd, at the intersection of Stardust blvd.
One vendor, Taste of Paradise, brought in six different organic farm products and said they sold out by 11:30 and will bring more this week.
Ms. Legg said the market will also be a true farm to market operation, where residents can order products from vendors online and then pick them up at the market.
In addition to produce, vendors will be selling prepared food, arts and crafts, and health and healing products.
The Auto Restoration Club will also have a booth with their Mustang raffled, as will the Foundation and Pickleball Club to help their Helping hands fundraiser.
The Posse will have a booth for recruitment and information as well.
