NFL Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith is headlining a charity Gala Saturday, Nov. 10 in Glendale.
Mr. Smith will be the special guest for the Sun Health Foundation’s 2018 Gala at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa, 9495 W. Coyotes Blvd., which will include a silent and live auction, dinner and special entertainment.
All proceeds will benefit the new Banner Boswell Medical Center Emergency Department, 10401 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, a 40,000-sq. ft. expansion project, providing 33 percent more patient beds and easier access for the community.
Early registration tickets, bought by Friday, Sept. 21, cost $175. After that date, tickets will cost $225. Tables for 10 can also be purchased for 10 times the individual ticket price. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible.

Mr. Smith played 13 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before finishing his career with two season with the Cardinals in 2003 and 2004. His time in Arizona was before Glendale’s University of Phoenix Stadium opened in 2006. He played his home games at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.
In his time with the Cowboys, Mr. Smith won three Super Bowls, one MVP, one Super Bowl MVP, was named to eight Pro Bowls and received four First-Team All-Pro honors. The Hall of Famer holds several records, but the most notable are leading the NFL in career rushing touchdowns, with 164, and career rushing yards, with 4,409.
