A Glendale summer tradition is back for its 52nd season beginning Thursday, June 7th at the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre in Murphy Park, 58th and Glenn drives. The free eight-week Glendale Summer Band concert series begins each Thursday at 8 p.m., concluding Thursday, July 26.

The weekly concerts offer a night out for family and friends to gather and enjoy the music. Lawn chairs or blankets are welcome for seating. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase at the concerts. The series will feature a special patriotic performance Thursday, June 28th in celebration of Independence Day. Each week will offer a themed performance.

The Glendale Summer Band is the longest-running community band in Arizona. The ages of the volunteer band members span several generations. The band was formed in 1966, playing originally at O’Neal Park before moving the Murphy Park.

The Glendale Summer Band concert series is sponsored by the Glendale Ambassadors. For more information, call the Glendale’s special events hotline at 623-930-2299 or visit
