What do you think?
Do you frequent the U.S. Post Office location near Dysart Road and Grand Avenue?
Should the city continue its contract with USPS for that location?

Dear Surprise Today editor:
I have been a citizen of El Mirage for 18 years but receive services for my P.O. box mail at the Surprise United States Postal Service station at 16554 N. Dysart Road.
Once again citizens are faced with a denial of services at this station as I am told that the city of Surprise is canceling the contract for this facility at the end of its contract in August 2019.
This will affect about 200 persons who, like me, get their mail there, besides all the people who use that station for mailing items.
I have talked to the Sun City-Surprise Postmaster, Diane, and she is confused about who is trying to cancel this contract; she said this was not requested by herself or anyone at USPS.
My wife and I talked to Lari Beth Kirkendall at Surprise Real Estate Manager and she seems to feel the post office in not going to renew its contract. So surely, someone is not bringing forth the truth.
About four years ago, your paper did an article on this when the post office was going to downsize stations and people in Washington got involved and this important longstanding building survived.
Now it seems the city is moving forward to cancel a service that is critical to citizens in the area.
