Could 713 opt-in registered voters really have a 3.7% margin of error in a statewide poll, and wouldn't the opt-in method be critical in such a poll?

The fate of this project is a tragic example of the dysfunction of bad Councilors governing by social media. Kathy Littlefield embarrassed the City by propping up a group that are simply obstructionists who oppose all apartments - they've posted as much over and over. Yet Littlefield threw class and grace under the bus in her pandering to the mob. Online petitions are trash, clickbait is not civic engagement. Our city is 250,000, Littlefield claiming a few NIMBYs represent the majority of residents is not surprising, she has no vision for the city beyond placating people who like Littlefield have no interest in moving forward. Solange Whitehead is as bad as Littlefield when it comes to quality decision-making. She has spent months negotiating in bad faith, never having any intention of passing this project in her attempt to be re-elected. Sometimes projects deserve a thumbs-down, but sometimes combative and obstructionist residents deserve it. Shame on Littlefield and Whitehead, Scottsdale deserves better.

Where was your outrage June 24, 2020 when Guy Phillips mocked the death of George Floyd? Guy Phillips brought incredible shame to Scottsdale. A White and clearly racist Scottsdale City Council member mocked the death of a Black Man with State Senator Ugenti-Rita waiting to speak next standing behind him. The Qanon Buffalo Head guy ranted within 30' of Phillips just one year, six months and 12 days before leading the insurrection in our Capitol. A Confederate flag waved in the background. International news media demanded that Guy Phillips resign. I remember you saying nothing, Mr. Manross. If you did, I will apologize. Now the stage has changed. A Jewish Man threatened by the same mob that revered Phillips never published the files he and his father amassed that dealt with those same racists. J-M Greenburg never published the dossier. This newspaper is the actual perpetrator of that act. I'm appalled by the decision of the Independent to publish those records. None of those who are outraged by the Greenburgs' files would have suffered any public scrutiny if the Independent had not made itself the platform for the launch. I believe both acts were horrible moments for our City. It seems that you don't. So please, Mr. Manross, explain your current anger in light of your prior silence.

A few thoughts for consideration. First, if I am outraged by the contents of a Google Drive folder why would I ask the Scottsdale Independent to publish the link so everyone can see it? Until the S.I. published that link, I don't know a single soul besides the creators, who knew it existed. Second, the story seems to indicate that for three months those who are now outraged had the information that triggered their outrage. Not until Pam Kirby tweeted that they were failing to gather enough signatures to recall Board members did those who are now outraged decide to publish the story about the Drive. Why did they wait so long? Third, replacing Jann-Michael as President made great sense. Thank you to our governing board members who realized that getting back to to governing our District would be difficult if not impossible as long as J-MG was conducting the meetings. Last thought for the day - Greenburg made a video while wandering around in a motorcycle helmet to conceal his identity. I have no idea why he did that instead of just shooting the video like every other person who felt like it did. If he didn't want to be seen, he could have just copied the videos that many of those who now express their outrage have already posted on social media. I haven't watched his video, but I doubt there is much in it that I couldn't find elsewhere in five minutes including just going to the social media and websites of those now complaining. As to this mess being "creepy". I tend to agree. I also note that the term "creepy" applies to a lot more than just Greenburg's actions.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel's response is very weak. These actions should be condemned just on their face as they violate our basic rights as citizens. This is only an impediment to school studies because the violation has been discovered. I don't feel integrity or transparency is valued in our school system.

This is a much-welcome initiative. I hope it serves to reduce the irrelevancy and ad hominem tone that we see in too many posts.

Wilson never should have been conducting Corporation business that serious behind closed doors, in secret. Over 4 months later, and they haven't produced a single substantiated or proven charge against McAdam. She has not only been unable to stop the disrespect the Board has shown for the Members, she's led the charge!

The president is putting out only opinions here and not stating facts. Also a lot of double talk. He doesn't give an actual number that community spread needs to go down to ignore the mask mandate because he knows once ASU gets down whatever number there will be another reason to extend the mask rules. Social distancing is not being forced and so mask mandates make even less sense. If masks protect others, then why are vaccinated people still spreading and also getting Covid?
