Tempe contractor donates holiday meal boxes to local families

CHASSE Building Team, an employee-owned and operated general contractor in Tempe that oversees more than $425 million in construction projects across Arizona annually, kicked off the holiday season early by coming together for CHASSE-giving, an annual giving event wherein employees volunteer together to help the local community.

This year, more than 40 team members took part, helping put together approximately 1,000 holiday meal boxes for local families’ Thanksgiving celebrations. Each meal box contained donated pumpkin pies, a slew of traditional holiday side dishes and other surprises, according to a news release.

“The boxes were provided to families the Saturday before Thanksgiving at 10 pickup points across Tolleson, Glendale, Tempe and Phoenix in partnership with school districts in the southeast, west and north valleys to ensure all items would get directly into the hands of those in need,” said Taylor Perkins of CHASSE. “We work extensively in K-12 construction, both in new builds and renovations, ensuring to make true connections with the schools as well as its students throughout the process. When the opportunity presented itself to create a tangible program to help students and families, we jumped at the chance.”

According to Perkins, this is CHASSE’s second year partnering with local school districts on this program but just one of the local business’ giving initiatives statewide. The award-winning general contractor has supported more than 100 organizations across Arizona by fundraising, donating and providing sponsorships in excess of $3.5 million. CHASSE also collectively volunteers an average of 3,000 hours each year through company and individual opportunities.

“We are huge believers that if our company has a positive and inspiring culture for its employees, then our employees will excel and ultimately so will the company. And because we are a sustainable and profitable company, we must maximize our ability to make a positive difference in the community we serve,” said Perkins.
